Frankenweenie is a Superhero (Blog # 29)

Food for Thought

. Imagination is a thing everyone experiences, though, everyone takes it a different way. With Gabriel, he was one that looked at something that changed him and moved him internally.

. For those with autism, the movie theater is a comforting place, were they can just, you know, watch a movie.

. Movies no matter what, can change someone watching it. It could give a message.

My Opinions

. I found this story quite heartly, reading on how a movie such as this changed and helped young Gabriel. Being a huge movie fan and being moved by several films, this was understandable.

.I hope Gabriel finds other works to help him along and brighten him up just like Frankenweenie did to him.

YES A QUESTION

Any movies that moved you?

In A Hole In The Ground...There Lived A Hobbit... (Blog # 28)

Hello to those.

ANOTHER week has passed quickly and soon, Christmas break will be here.

WOO

Overall, this week was just work all over the place. Both school and animation class, I'm pooped out and I can't wait for the weekend. We learned 3-D dimensional mathematics for our introduction into 3-D animation and it was different as there are now X-Y-Z instead of just X-Y.

I would like to learn different animation styles, especially something like this

I would love to learn how to do something of this nature.

I'm really happy this week as my friends are coming over and that means, video games, up all night video games and going against each other with video games. plus, we're seeing the desolation of smaug tomorrow!

ugh, iv'e been waiting for this and i can't wait to see it, it's gonna be so perf.

what pissed me off was the lag on my mac. I was told that since using the paint brush it does that but I can't stop using it! It's my favorite one *grabbie hands*

So this has been the week of Emily McNuggies.

Summing it up:

ELVES. (Video # 11)

Okay, literally this person, JentheJinx was the one who got me into cosplay. Iv'e been following her and her cosplay adventures for years now. So, I look up to her highly.
So, since the Hobbit is coming out this Friday. Here's a video of her in her Thorin Oakenshield cosplay.
Ugh, she is so amazing.
From my Kingdom Hearts phase which she heavily influenced with her show 'Demyx Time' She grew into a more known cosplayer to all.

I just wanna meet her

FROZEN REVIEW (EXTRA)

Now, Frozen is based intentionally of the the Hans Christian Anderson story dubbed 'The Snow Queen'. The story being adapted to Disney was changed from the original and this worked.

I seen this movie last weekend and it was everything I waited for, it was perfect in every way possible. So I decided to do a review on the movie basing on the story line, the animation, the characters and even to the songs.

NOW I WILL TRY TO BE SPOILER FREE

So let's start off with the story of Frozen

The Story

The story is great as it shows the original Disney sense with a twist of it's own.
It feels like the Disney films from the Renaissance of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. With having the usual goofy Disney sidekicks of Olaf and Sven, they are in the film enough at the correct moments to lighten the mood. Saying, they are in it enough to not be annoying.

Each part of the movie moves along at a good pace and it keeps you interested with different plot twists and there really is a great one. Trust me, I loved it and it and another really shine in this movie making it stand out from other formal Disney animated films.

The Animation

Yes, yes. It does have some likeness' to Tangled, though in my opinion, I liked this way of animation for this plot a whole lot more, the roundness and full face of the characters especially Anna and Elsa, this style fits perfectly for them. Main-fully Anna, giving her that young and curious complexion.

Scene's such as the castle building in 'Let it Go' and just the background really are a shining star in this film. The background scenes are full with mountains and give you the feeling that, it is Norway. The snow which does take up most of the movie, well, they mastered snow, it looks amazing on screen and how Elsa does her magic. It's magical even just having the snow blowing.

For animals in the film, they nailed that on the head as well, with the wolves and Sven, Kristoff's dog-like reindeer, the fur and movement are flawless.

Differences of characters are good also, between Kristoff and Hans, Kirstoff has a more full face then Hans who has a more, masculine or even so called " better looking" face.

Kristoff having a bigger nose and a fuller face. Then Hans a more thinner one and a more kept looking presence for himself. They are polar opposites.

The Characters

Characters in Frozen show surprises for me as they are some of the most complex Disney characters so far, breaking stereotypes for the typical Disney character.

Starting with Anna, her character is a very eccentric and wondrous character. Her curiosity for the world around her and those also around her display a unique characteristic to a Disney female.

Elsa on the other hand, some look at her and think of a villain though on the real hand. She is far from a villain she, is the what changed my mind about Disney and the cookie cutter. She is the most complex out of all the characters and you'll see why.

Kristoff is my favorite character with his rugged personality and his way of living as an ice harvester. He is a loner as he lives with his friend Sven, who is a reindeer but just not any reindeer to him. He, does have a plot twist as well. He speaks his mind and soon finds himself in the adventure with Anna in the search of her sister Elsa.

Hans is the typical prince charming looking for the hand of a damsel. Even with that, he is a complex character that you will like for certain reasons. I actually adore Hans for his care and personality.

Here's Olaf that "annoying" snowman sidekick from the trailers. Now, I know what you're thinking. Though you are wrong. Olaf is a really good character and is actually funny with some deadpan humor. He adds that bit of light-hearted sense for this movie.

The Songs

The songs mostly being in the first half of the movie was the only thing I noticed that I didn't like as I wished there were more songs, they leave a huge impact of the audience and they represent the characters perfectly, giving character development in the process. Example being 'Let it Go' sung by Elsa and I know, this is gonna be up there with Colors of the Wind and others.

'Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?' is also a good one, being the first one in the movie, it starts off the film in a good way. Having a good start is key.

So overall, this movie is flawless and I highly recommend seeing this movie.

One of my favorites now and same to other's.

Go see Frozen, please.

Now I shall go and starting thinking up idea's on a nice Kristoff cosplay

I Can Just Smell the Winning Plots ( Blog # 27)

My Just Learned Knowledge

. Have your plot but add a bit more in there other than the main problem, add a second or possibly a third, it gives the story more meat inside of it. It could be relationships, the probability of a superheroes identity coming out or maybe some important dies. Makes things for complex.

. Start things off by punching the viewers in the face with a great opening. You have to pull their frail little minds into that mindset and world. Make them interested in your story.

. Have a genre and not some sloppy thing that your don't know what it is. If it has aliens. Good, it's a Sci-fi, if it has dancing hippos in ballerina skirts and magic broomsticks walking about well, I don't know.

HEY, LISTEN

. You also, have to make people think with and along with your story, it keeps them hooked as well as they think. So they stay interested as they try and see if their analogies are correct.

. An opening has to be good but the ending also so, if there is a sequel, the viewers will come back for the second part.

ANSWER THIS

. What is your opinion on screenwriting and also, what movie has the best writing in your opinion?

Fun Things About Editing (Blog # 26)

Facts, Life is About the Facts

. Figuring the tone of your project is a main as if you don't know the initial tone or message, it wont go far and it will die. Make your idea and edit, edit it until you know what you want.

. With screenwriting, organizing thoughts is essential. Conform and ideal point to a smaller idea and broaden on that.

. You have to listen to the leader or the higher up's if they don't know or possibly won't like it, show them what you think and if they say they don't like it, then you have to fix it even if you personally think it's a good plan or idea. Sad but true.

O-PIN-IONS

. Personally, I like screenwriting. I like writing period so I agree with the process of making an idea for a project. Start small and move onto bigger things, this is how I made the plot of my own animation 'Static'. A small thought, horror and static. BAM! A whole plot and twists are created.

. Listening to the head of the project, I think sucks so much. Though, it's a good and a bad thing. As the head of your department could not like you or lessen your ideas until, you idea is nothing but in shambles.

?

. How long is the editing process exactly?

MK III (Blog # 25)

Welcome to my review on my week. Overall, it was a productive week.

Obviously we've been working on our 2D shorts and so far I'm at 22 seconds (WOO) but working on it this weekend. In regular school, nothing. Absolutely nothing other than people throwing food around on the bus and dancing in the bus.

I really want to learn how to make things more anticipating in my animations since, it's supposed to be psychological and frighting.

This week has been pretty drama free as I rolled on through without a care in the world. Ah, so nice isn't it??

But for happiness, my band put out a new album!
MK III by Steam Powered Giraffe, they are my favorite band and I'm in love with it so much, it's wonderful. Plus not to mention I stayed up for their Steam Power Hour ( a Q & A and show they do on their youtube) for a party about the album release and it was all live! Loved it.

So all in all my week was good and hopefully there are more to come just so.

Summing things up:

Lil' Guardian Pyro ( Video # 10)

For this week, I bring another SFM video from this years Saxxy. The ultimate winner was this video and it is the most creative SFM to this date with it's use of bringing items in the game to life. Plus not to mention the really cool concept.

A World of Pure Imagination (Blog #24)

Let Me Throw Some Snowballs At Cha'

. The story of Frozen is based off of the classic Scandinavian tale The Snow Queen by Hans Christian. I knew this but the fact that the idea has been kick about for several years now since the 40's. Then finally, they are making it.

. Even with it coming out, it does have a different twist from the true story, to suit Disney I would guess. Though I really like how they analyzed the ideas with the characters personalities. Plus just to add, the voice of Elsa would be Idina Menzel from Wicked which is pretty cool

. Also, the animators studied true places in the frozen areas and towns in the Scandinavian side of the world, giving it a more real feeling towards the film.

Personal Opinions

. I really want to see this movie, I've always loved Disney and just I feel like the small 6 year old I used to be, always mesmerized. I like how they reviewed the areas for the scenery and studying trailers, it looks so beautiful.

. Personally, I would have loved to see this made back in the day with the classic Disney art style. That would have looked amazing.

Why Don't I Ask A Question

. Will you see Frozen and what are your opinions of the film?

Our Four-Legged Friends (Blog #23)

Let Me Start This Up:

. If you analyze multiple movies you notice that now, many or almost all have an animal or creature companion or side character in them. It is essential to know how to animate an animal the correct way since they are prevalent in movies and shows alike.

. With characters, show the differences. Every being is different in their own ways so display that in your animated characters from appearance, to walking and all of the above. You want to be different, and showcase your individual style of reel or animation of movement and character. With animals and creatures though, mixing both the animal and human feature brings the character to life, giving them a more relative and relating sense.

.   Just like humans, animals are controlled by gravity and psychics as well. Give your character weight, a most realistic sense as they move in different ways.

Twice the Opinion:

. In my opinion, I agree that drawing animals is a requirement, thought I don't that everyone needs to know how to. Like me, I'm crap at drawing animals.

. I think the whole "We need to have a witty animal companion at all costs" is just a copy and paste ploy. I mean, I DO like some human and animal companionship in animated movies but, not all the time and when it's not needed for the storyline.

Now for YOUR Opinion

. If you were an animated character, who would you want to be your animal companion? (I would want a hedgehog)

Feels Everywhere (Blog # 22)

So for this week, it's been tame, no real activity that is mindblowing or extraordinary.

Been working on my 2D Short in class and practicing lip sync. We also learned the fundamentals of sound recording and work for our own animations which I really liked. Garage Band is the best thing ever.  In regular school, English projects and Health work really, other than that and a good math quiz grade. Again, nothing exciting.

Though I would really like to learn how to do better annotations and notes for my AP English class and better my writing. In Animation, like I said, camera angles. I have to work on that. To make things more cinematic.

Now as I blogged about before and with my videos this week, yesterday was Doctor Who 50th Anniversary and it was everything and more. I'm not giving spoilers because that would be a rather stupid and dumb thing to do, but to those who haven't watch it yet, it was very enjoyable and...shocking. In other fandom news because that's my whole being, man I'm like the news for fandoms.

*COUGH*

BREAKING NEWS

SHERLOCK SERIES 3 TRAILER IS OUT

It was short but, it was just perfect, like literally, so many questions that I need answered.

Now, for the worse side of things, drama. School this week was huge puddles of teenage induced drama that I didn't want to be apart of but I guess the waves crashed into me anyways. Friends being obsessed with women and all, rather annoying. Though, I'll say to further information.

So that wraps up on my week.
Sorry for the extra stuff, just. I like blogging to much.

I'll leave you with the GIF of the week that sums things up:

If Those Out There Need Help With Poses (EXTRA)

Hello hello hello.

This is just an added special thing, whatever it is but I know how sometimes poses are a total hell to draw at some points so,

http://senshistock.deviantart.com/

This page is loaded with tons of pictures for poses of many types, I use this at points when I honestly don't know how a leg bends.

Just to help some people, here ya go.

(T)ime (A)nd (R)elative (D)imensions (I)n (S)pace (Video # 9)

So to all Whovians out there, the 50th is coming up this Saturday and literally, I can't wait. So for the video I bring with me this week is another band I listen to but, totally related to the Who-niverse. (Ha. I'm so punny)

Chameleon Circuit is a band that associates and writes their songs all based on Doctor Who and this one basing it off of the simple thing of running. You all know that running is a thing you would do an awful lot if you were a companion.

There are good amount of songs with this group and I totally recommend them if you're into Doctor Who.

So yeah! (I end a lot of things like that)

So basically,

Going Back to the Oldies (Blog #21)

Now if I'm like anyone else, I grew up with Mickey Mouse also. Though, I loved the older Mickey Mouse shows and I remember watching Steamboat Willie. Oh the times.

Now, Here's a Thing

. Normally, people making something new want the product to look new and not some out-dated thing. Though on the other hand this is what they want. By making a new Mickey cartoon but making the animation into an "old movie". A pretty difficult process to do but, will be done anyways.

. By making the film appear older than what it really was, animators went in frame-by-frame and made mistakes actually. Funny how usually you don't want mistakes, but back in the 20's there were obvious mistakes of cel damage and dust in the small clips.

. another element used to give that effect, some took sounds of hisses and pops from films of the ole and used them to give it more of an authentic sense.

Two Sense

. I like this! ANOTHER! by making an older short animation like this could open the eyes to children, some could find it, magical? How animation used to be then to now. It will open the eyes of people and me, I like it so much, older animation like so.

. More people should try doing this, indulging into this type of stuff. It's unique now it a weird way as so many things are clean cut. It shows a difference.

Q & A

. Your opinion?? Like or dislike?

The Ever-So Changing Workspace (Blog #20)

We all had the idea that the occupations we all practically want to strive for result in a pretty cool environment though we do have to look after something. It does change with the upgrading technology and demand for things. We'll be constantly learning things no matter what. From programs and maybe even to the lengths of drawing.

Here's Some Information

. Especially with Visual Effects, skills and and dire want for the job is a huge number one. It's very demanding in that field as you, the worker, has t do what is asked for. It really, honestly, has to be perfect in ways. For certain shows and what the visual is. People look for that passion, that burning in that person's eyes for that passion that they really want to do this and nothing else. Now that, is what they want. A good head on that worker's shoulders. So they know they will get the job done.

. We already know that nobody is going to start automatically at Pixar or Dreamworks. You have to work towards that title like everyone else. Though, by throwing your work out there, someone is going to see it. Like it, Share and all of the above. This is a great way to display who you are and your skills. So, get your foot in the door and maybe, you'll finally get into that room you can see right on ahead.

. Saying you want to be in VFX is pretty sweet though, what area. There are so many areas with being into VFX it's hard to pick. Everyone has a job that is something big. Even if it was just moving clothing or whatever else. Think what you want to do and what you enjoy doing. Simple.

The Overall Idea

. Myself, I give a huge clap clap to VFX. Looking at movies in this day and age, for example. The Lord of the Rings series. What they did in those movies blew my mind as a kid. I believed Middle Earth was a real place. (Then of course, I was crushed because come on, who else wanted to live in a hobbit hole or eat Lembas Bread) Anyways, I think VFX needs to be, shined upon more. The people deserve much more created!

. How they state that you don't have to be a master at computers or drawing is perfect. Not everyone is gonna be the same with their skills as people come from different environments and places. Where they got their skills as well. It's all different from each other.

MY QUESTION TO YOU

. Where do you think the magic of VFX will be in 5 years?

Kaiju Blu (Blog #19)

Hey all!

This week has been obviously shorter then other's since we were off Monday but other than that, this week has been pretty upbeat.

In school we've been learning more U.S government fundamentals, but in AP English were gonna be doing a play (yay???) then with Animation, walk cycle's! They seem easy enough and myself, I'm in-bedding it into my 2d short which I started already.

Though, with the way my animation is gonna be and how I want it, I would really like to learn more about the camera angles. Like, what makes things look good, even in an animation. Yeahhhhh

Now towards the title (like some of you were probably wondering) is a reference to Pacific Rim (i love that movie way to much) and pretty much, for Tora Con this year ( a con ) I finally figured out my cosplay ideas.
Day 1 - RED! Medic
then
Day 2 - Newt Geiszler from Pacific Rim

Now THIS is gonna be so much fun.

(SUCH A KAIJU GROUPIE)

These are gonna fun to make though (dem tats)

Nothing really pissed me off more then Devil May Cry 1. Damn camera angles and boss battles.  (NIGHTMARE I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU)

Other than all of this stuff, that's really it.
So I'll leave ya'll be with this Newt.

(NOT SORRY ABOUT ALL THE GIF USE)

Following the Bouncing Pug Head ( Video #8)

So now with a different feel, I bring to you my favorite band. Steam Powered Giraffe.
They pretty much, do acting and things on stage alongside their songs and it's all fun, I really wanna go to a concert.
This is just one of their songs and as you can tell, they represent robots and use the steampunk style which, I friggen' love to death.

JUST SPG MAN

GIF's Can Be Weird (Blog # 18)

The first made GIF's. Simple enough to say.

The Lesson

. 19th-century photographs and drawings were then pictured and made into animated GIF's. A large collection in a museum and as well on Tumblr. They in an odd way, are extremely disturbing in their own way as they continuously loop around and around with their actions. Weird and creepy.

. Joseph Plateau invented the device called a pnhenakistoscope. This device gives off an illusion which tricks the eye. A drawing that's on a disk is spun on a vertical axis, by spinning the disk and looking at the image in a mirror, a continuous image or animation is shown to be moving.

. Plateau's experiment oddly, was only out of scientific questioning and wonderment and thus, this was found. Because of his mistake on discovery, this form turned into entertainment.

2 OPINIONS

. When it is said that Plateau might have jokingly took LSD, I could say so that maybe he could have because of the images in the GIF's how can anyone think of such things. So trippy indeed, I totally agree.

. The Zoetrope gives a much more complex and possibly more smooth animation then Plateau's idea on the Pnhenakistscope.

A Question?

. Should we look into more older ways of animation and use this in more studies??

Idea's , Idea's So Many Idea's (Blog # 17)

So this week, I finally was able to hand in my roto project and it was extremely time consuming but totally worth the effort in the end and I'm very proud of my work to say the least.
Also along with this week, our 2D Animation's are coming up soon and I have way to many idea's to even handle. Finally though, I grappled onto one and choose it. (YAY)

What I'd like to learn, huh. Walking Cycle's!
This is something that' i'm interested in because I draw character's all the time and to just do something simple as walking, it brings them to life so easily.

I got my haircut and it feels so good, this is such a simple happiness and it's wondrous as my hair flows in the wind. Going into battle. FREEEEDOOOOMMM

I got so pissed because of Halloween and I was the only one dressed up!
Like come on, my school totally sucks. UGH

All in all, my week has been such a bore and I'm such a drab person, not sorry.

I'm Way to Hyped Up (Video #7)

Okay, as far as anyone knows. I'm a huge TF2 weirdo and a huge fan.
Though with this video, it's a new video that's coming out soon with others for this years Annual Saxxy Awards. Now I can go on and on about the Awards but this is highly anticipating for me and others part of the fandom. SO YEAH

Computers Hate Me (Blog # 16)

I am literally having the worst week ever and just, my head is not on my shoulders at all it appears.

So far this week, it's all been work, work and work with our rotoscoping projects and its fine and all but just, so many problems with me and it's upsetting. first off with me doing the project at home and now with flash drives and things not saving correctly. UGH.

Pretty much to be indifferent, I WANT TO LEARN WHAT I'M DOING WRONG. (/throws self into volcano/)

Happiness, well this week. The only happy thing that happened was a perfect score on my math quiz. Whoopie.

Now, everything was bad. Just, I can't like the title states. Computers seem to hate me and I'm so stressed and practically my hair is going to fall out!

(Me right now)

The Littlest Reaper (Video #6)

CLICK ME

So for my video this week, I wanted to bring in a bit of Halloween. Woohoo.
Though, this video dubbed "Deathigner" is possibly the cutest video I have seen. I think any of you will enjoy it with the view on death itself and the grim reapers from around the globe and a little thing called " Death School"

Fluid animation and a creative art style added to the mix, I believe that this deserves a movie. Truly. Or maybe even a 30 minute short would be good as well.

Thank you, La Bouff (Blog #15)

Golly, here we go again with female characters.

For me, I have been seeing this argument unfold about female characters not being expressive with emotions like male characters and also PoC. (People of Color)

Learned I Did

. Many express how characters that are female don't have individual expressions, looks are just overall anything. They are alike, they all say. Comparing Anna from Frozen and Rapunzel from Tangled, they both have similar to almost exact facial structure even if both characters are from different parts of the world. Well, in their stories.

. Also, historically from years before, apparently female characters are harder, yes harder, to express emotion because they still have to be pretty. Odd because Iv'e seen female with tons of emotion and why should it exactly matter?

. Usually, some say that when they do attempt to change or express for example a middle age women, like a really one. They are told that they are doing wrong and to make her more, fruitful.

Here's Some Fruit for Thought

. Now, this is all bull. Female character CAN show a lot of emotion and they should, showing emotion is a human thing and in their words. We don't look beautiful all the time expressing these emotions and that is fine though by doing so in movies, it kind of shows a lie of what girls/females are.

. For example, one of my favorite characters from "Princess and the Frog" was Charlotte la Bouff. She has some many expressions and she still is pretty but, well, her emotions and expressions are amusing but,
observe.

SHE IS LITTLE FIREBALL OF EMOTION.

My Question for You

. Can females truly be represented like ay other character instead of some sexualized, perfect human being and be shown as any other person that can laugh and snort without a care?

Respawn of the Dead (Blog #14)

Zombies, Zombies and more Zombies.

We all love zombies and their flesh eating faces, even if they probably are missing their jaw. Still.

With this article, we learn the properties and the structure on exactly, why do we love something as simple but as creepy as a monster that will murder and eat us in cold blood. Don't get me wrong, zombies are really, really cool.

Fundamentals of Learning

. "The Walking Dead" have been a worldwide phenomenon since, forever. In multitudes of myth's and stories from cultures all over and stories of the dead coming back to life and common. Oddly in a way, we just learn these stories when we age and grow up, they just, appear in our lives. From horror stories at slumber parties to the movie screen. Thus where the 30's come in and the zombie is brought to the eye of viewers and common folk. Though, when it came to "The Night of the Living Dead" Zombies became an international fear. Soon, more and more zombies and twists to the "kind" came along and it practically became an icon. Weird, but that is how things usually work.

. Often at times, speculations are emerged and created based on movies and even zombie movies, like the idea of that zombies could represent the affect of technology and the non-dependence on human beings, thus, becoming a zombie. Also to go along with these , some say, they use the phone or even computer and don't connect with people face-to-face and it shows that already, it could probably start. It's in motion and we don't even know. (*Twilight Zone Theme*)

. Connected above, most of the time in our lives. We are just thrown into a group or maybe even a horde we don't even know about yet. Based on our workplace, life and government. We are simply just an unwanted number, or also just a blurred being. Much like a zombie, someone who has no individuality.

Weighing My Opinions

. Honestly, I like zombies myself. One of my favorite movies is Shaun of the Dead and I read online stories and they do have zombie connections! Though, when I start to see zom-com romance movies with zombie love. Well, that's going far because, you know, necrophilia.

. Noticing the connections of the government and that technology is also connected with zombies is a pretty liable fact. It makes sense and as well as connecting to that zombie uproar we had a while ago. Supposed zombies in Florida, HA. More like drug addicts.

Thee Question

. To be honest, do you think that society is losing it's mind and even brains towards zombies?
Should we focus on other monsters other than them? (YES A DOUBLE QUESTION)

Another Week, Another Doll hair (Blog #13)

Back once again for another completed week and surprisingly, it's almost the end of the 10 week mark, just, holy mother of-

*404 ERROR*

It's running by, quickly.

Overall this week, it's all been rotoscoping work day in and day out and to be honest, it's relaxing to just work desperately. nothing really, just all work. Oh, work.

Honestly though, i might look into doing more rotoscoping work personally, I really enjoy it so far. Could be fun to see what other ideas I could come up with. (come on brain)

probably, the only upsetting thing that happened this week was plans to hang out with my best friend, Destiny. Man, I haven't seen her in 3 months and just, FINALLY I get to see her tomorrow, thank YOU.

Now, happiness.

Team Fortress 2 and drawings.

I finally started drawing more and drew myself some tf2 drawings of The Sniper, The Spy, The Engineer and The Soldier and I love them all. So proud and ready to continue and improve on all of them and other mercs.

So yeah, heh.

Done with another week and it's off the checklist.

^^ Literally me.

Now I go back into hibernation, until next week.

USE THE SWORD AS A SWORD (Video # 5)

This week I bring ya'll with, Bee and Puppycat.

I'm a fan of Cartoon Hangover and their video's, especially this small series. It's beautifully animated, great voice acting and it actually had quite the surprise with the whole thing at the end. /claps

Personally, I adore Puppycat's Vocaloid voice.

Give Me Cartoons, or Give Me Death (Blog #12)

As I went over before, we already discussed the abundance on animated films in the industry now-a-days which, is fine but sometimes, it could be cut throat.

Something I Learned

. There is literally no difference between PG and G. Interesting, huh. Just, why would you even have either then if they are the same thing with the same purpose.

. The film business and especially the animation films, seem to be full of madness with how movies always seem to come out with other films with it. Competition 24/7 it looks like. Always have to be on top in the box office.

. The thought of adult animated movies is just pretty funny idea. Adult's laughing at these films and children not understanding them. Ahhh.

Opinions Show Up

. In my opinion, I would like to see an attempt on an adult animated film, I want to see how it would compete with other movies and in the box office plus, just to see how they would do it.

. The film business is way to cut throat and it has to be like that but, calm down a little there buddies. If you don't want to compete harshly, release your movie at a different time.

 MY QUESTION

. Who else wants to see an adult film??

Welcome to the Meth Lab (Blog #11)

Even if I haven't seen Breaking Bad yet, the story appears to be pretty intense and complex in parts and I, actually might watch it myself (even though it's over now)

Also possibly, the only thing I knew about Breaking Bad is meth. Simply put right there in bold.

I LEARNED

. Emotions and camera work are a main essential to the workings of television and movies. Without either, a story may as well not take off and the viewers will not, or most likely not understand and go towards a characters story. Though with BB's  (Breaking Bad) case, it's the total opposite. It's really interesting how people could root for a 'villain' character, even with the things that character has done. I, myself, often do root for villain characters. Example's like Loki from Thor and The Avengers. Displaying and playing up the back story of someone, they would understand.

. POV. Point of View is a major, with writing and acting even. Switching between POV's of characters and also the world, the viewer gets a diverse idea of what is going on, from everyone's perspective. Extremely important! Many, many ways of using POV to the advantage.

. A Russian filmmaker developed the method on POV, getting inside one's head. Lev Kuleshov built on the technique. This I really didn't know, to my, I thought it was an automatic instinct to do so in filming. Well, I learnt something.

Make These Opinions Important

. I look highly up to the use of different POV's. In my opinion, It gives the writing a strong cushioning also a complexity to awe readers/viewers. Not some flat-lining knowledgeable piece of bore-fest that just goes with the flow and does nothing to add a backbone as to why, for example, that character is looking for a twinke. (gosh i hope someone gets that reference. if nobody did, this would sadden me so.)

. More shows and movies need to do this a better way. Really. I just don't want to see explosions all the time for no reason. Even if they are cool. Still, more emotion, less boom-boom.

A Question Has Come My Way

. Now, my question for you!
Any other way people get glued to a screen??

At Least Now-a-days We Don't Use Leeches ( Blog # 10)

as the title says.

so far this week, it's been boarderline normal. nothing really exciting and indifferent occured (yet). practically, i was only sick on monday which, i really didn't like as i was stuck on the couch watching re-runs of supernatural. still pretty cool though.

now continuing on and away from the gross fathoms of my sickly state, you wouldn't want to be infected.

this week, flash was broadened upon us and new skills on tweens were taught ( as far as i know ), different animation techniques were also given to use to use and tweak around with. also to build up on this week learning agenda, a page with multitudes of vocabulary was handed out and to studied on. file types such as the much dreaded JPEG. Who knew something that i used before could contain much evil as this little guy.

for my future mostly, i would like to learn about sound effects and even voice acting for future projects to come. iv'e always looked into voice acting and found it a possible thing to try out and maybe, this may be a chance. piecing together an animation with a scripted act would be an accomplishment for myself. something to develop into i would think.

really, the thing that upset me was the fact i missed so much that one day i was out. though, christina helped me out so much and thanks to her cunning little demo's and notes, she caught me up. thanks again, friend.

now, something that made me happy.
for animation wise, my character design from Ai came out just the way i wanted and i liked it. even if there are much better (which there are) i'm very proud of this character i made and created. i savored him. now, for personal.
the team fortress 2 fandom on tumblr ( yeah, yeah i know. wow, i'm surprised team fortress 2) but, away from that. as i posted previously before, i'm in the construction of my medic cosplay and it's going great. possibly i would post pictures of here if i was aloud to but anyways, i was told, i was to fat and overweight to be that character and i know this is getting personal but, simply, cosplay is supposed to be about fun.  not hating an individual on inaccuracies.

so, i made a post to my tumblr followers and on the tag of tf2 on tumblr and just, i got flooded and spammed with so many, loving messages from people from the fandom i dont even know and people who follow me and, it was an abundant mass of love. and in that moment, i realized how amazing the fandom was.

just, give me a moment.

aside from drama.

that has been my week.

Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey-Whimey STUFF ("Video" #4)

THIS
IS AN ASTRONOMICAL THING

literally, while browsing on tumblr, i found this kickstarter and it held interest in me. only to discover, a freak-en TARDIS will be put into space.

the video attached in the kickstarter itself shows the whole explanation on the project and what is to be done. the kickstarter raised highly over the price needed and sadly, no more donations are being put through.

though, it's really cool that on the 50th anniversary of doctor who, this TARDIS satellite will be put into orbit.

i know it's animated related like other video's, but i thought people would be interested like myself.

my reaction to this:

Childhood Inspirations (Blog #9)

As any normal kid that was born in the 90's and so, I grew up watching Disney Movies, from Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, then moving up towards Mulan and Pocahontas. Disney was a main factor in growing up, though, The Muppets and Sesame Street taught me lessons as well. I remember sitting on the couch in the mornings with my matching pj's and eating cereal. Simple times, ahhhh. Also, just to mention, watching He-Man and stuff with my dad was the best. Back on topic. Both Walt Disney's and Jim Henson's works were important to me.

A childhood.

I Learned Stuff

. Surprisingly so, both men were alike in many ways with different attributes. Thinking about it, they developed a full generation of people and children alike that, they will never forget this stuff. BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE.

. Both Walt and Jim weren't praising individuals. Odd to think though to each their own and even with that, they did what they did and pulled out their work.

. I honestly didn't know that both were so, up tight on making sure they are entitled not just as men they have a caring for the development of children, but, that they also enjoyed what they did and they were filmakers and not just some performers for the amusement of the younger one's.

OPINIONS

. Truly, I can't choose.Iv'e been to Disneyland when I was younger and also, Iv'e been on Sesame Street. Both were amazing experiences as a child. Hell, still to this day I love watching their works and for Jim Henson, his work with Labyrinth was some of the best work ever. One of my favorite movies ever and plus duh, David Bowie.

. For Walt Disney's theme song, I see him as more of a Once Upon a Dream guy from Sleeping Beauty

Questions Rolling on In

. What is YOUR favorite Disney Movie. Mine, it's a hard choice but it's either Alice in Wonderland, The Hunchback of Notredame,Pocahontas or Sleeping Beauty.

See ya'll next time

Thank you Dreamworks (Blog #8)

As we already know, storyboarding is an important aspect in the field of animation and having DreamWorks give out tips and helping out on improving them, is great.

My Lesson:

. Avoid being so flat, give a scene depth and not just one angle. it should agree with the viewrs eye and it should be pleasing and not a boring board that is flat. It's like shooting a film, use more then one camera.

. Grids actually help, now for me, drawing is usually just a an automatic thing to do and not laying down a grid first. Though with this, it helps layout your shapes and where exactly you want things to be in your scene.

. Depth is a MAIN. You need depth to add to the scene, you don't want it flat and also with a background, foreground and frontground, you have a whole thing to look at.

Opinions are Important

. I actually enjoy storyboards and seeing how they are and then the final product is really a thing, how much an idea progressed.

. A storyboard can't roll unless you have a good concept with it.

Here's the Question

. Would you use these tips yourself??

Say NO To Spirit Week (Blog #7)

another week goes by and it's wondrous. things are going awesome and also i'm enjoying myself in class. i always can't wait to come in, with the whole class and get to work. this week flew by so fast, it was practically the flash. ha, flash.
this weekend, pretty much being with the family for a football game and usually not my thing but, it actually is fun to do.
now, for the title, spirit week at nfhs was horrible, boring choices for each day and the pep rally was, just no.

that's all i should say
so today, i'm fabric shopping and this will be difficult since i'm such a perfectionist.

for this week i learned about flash, flash man. savior of the universe. hah, joking aside. i love flash, i'll have to get used to it but learning how different animations are created in this program is really interesting

though what really irked me the fact that there is a merge mode, it's the most upsetting thing ever, just no. i don't like it.
for flash though, i can't wait to learn how to do full animated and sounded works. that would be pretty fun.

now for the happy, getting fabric for my medic cosplay is pretty sweet! i still have a bunch to do though, plus making the medi-gun and pack to go with it. ugh, cosplay i love it but damn.

i have nothing else to say so have this gif

also, here's a shout out to my amazing friend Christina and her lovely blog ( http://surikitsuna.blogspot.com/)
thank you so much for the shout out, ububu

so for anyone who reads this, here ya go

oh, sam and frodo are totally into each other (thoughsamandrosiehadlike13children)

so i brought you this fan-made animation for the song want you gone from portal 2.
for the video, i like the simple animation to the video and it being 2D and how they drew GlaDOS.
the song is sung beautifully and it's really, funny.

Someone Small Can Make a Change, Even a Scarecrow (Blog #6)

Watching the video struck a cord deep inside of me that I didn't know I even had. The message was shown simply and with the music and even the no named character, it showed a message.

What I Learned

. Even something so simple, controversy could strike at any moment. This being a youtube video and not a televised commercial, could have easily made it spread, faster I would say.

. Sometimes by displaying another product without much time for your own, it could work out in the end. Many commercials and video's have done this and they are pretty good and interesting to watch!

.  Companies, multiple actually, wish to promote their products through viral videos for a change. Honestly, that would be interesting so my tv wouldn't be clogged with commercials.

Opinions!

. I believe that viral videos of today are the future in anything, they spread things faster as well.

. The Scarecrow needs me good light shined upon it, not bad. It indicates a wonderful massage as well as promoting something.

Thee Question

. Now, Do you agree that The Scarecrow is a bad way of promoting or showing something or do you think it was a great way or showing the cons of things?
.

BBC All the Way (Blog # 5)

Music obviously is a main component to any great standing movie and everything made. It adds a certain emphasis to the subject at hand.

Personally, I enjoy a great score in a film.

What I Learned

. With the use of sound and music set ups, it emulates several emotions that are to present in the film and that specific scene. For me, I could use Jaws as an example with that iconic theme that you SHOULD know. With that, you just knew some unlikely person was going to die.

. Vibrations man, with these things you can invoke fear into a group of movie goers even with that "horror movie" soundtrack. It's pretty cool how you can bring out those fears with anxiety and even to the point of shivering because of a vibration or ring that has a low range.

. Music could also unknowing predict foreshadowing into the story, AKA death, romance or any other emotion. Example being, a man looking towards a girl in the crowd and the music starts and the zoom in as you obviously know, that's love at first sight.

Choo Choo, The Opinion Train Ahead

. Basically, Music is a favorite attribute of mine in any film from Interview with a Vampire to Edward Scissorhands and even The Shining. Music adds to the experience for anyone.

. I love the fact that vibrations can cause feelings like that in an audience. No wonder I feel that way while watching a horror movie.

Question Time

. Now, what is your favorite score of music from a film? Could be anything, mine. I always fall in love with the music my Danny Elfman from any Tim Burton movie (Edward Scissorhands especially)
(just look at him, such a cutie patootie)

Chibi's All Ova (Video #2)

this video is actually how i learned to draw the chibi style i use now, i broadened on the style and even made it my own but thanks to this video, i have my chibi style that everyone loves.

i really recommend this video and also to add, the music is so addictive.

Creativity is the Greatest Gift to Have (When you Have a Scanner) ( Blog #4)

well hello there again, looking at the overall week so far (being on wednesday) things are going swimmingly and all is well. drawings are being made and things are being learned all of that kind of stuff.

with learning illustrator and all, i quite enjoy it a whole lot and it took some getting used to (even the mac) but it's great really, though looking forward to learning flash still and even tomorrow on color theory, always found colors interesting. colors, interesting. god what's wrong with me. hah.

learning the mac is still burning me on the inside and i internally scream all the time when i do something wrong. ugh, why mac why. i grew up on windows so, hard to teach a dog new tricks well, i'm not that old.

anyways!

with happier news, i learned how to use a scanner properly and not mine at home! (ta-da) the scan looks amazing and beautiful, i really need to scan things at home more often. (reminder, remind self to put a reminder in my reminder) also in my own personal news, i might be going to a convention next weekend and i can't wait practically my reaction to it was

with this week, i learned actually that i'm good with this sort of stuff. i can do art!
i, actually always thought i was a horrible artist and i wasn't good enough, and now. i honestly feel good.

and now for the weather

so my week summed up:

or aka the video which is up next

Even With a Low Budget (Blog #3)

Visuals can and are interesting with a little work and imagination put together and they add up to the product. With a small budget, none should give up, greatness could still come out.

Things Iv'e Learned

. Let's just say, CAMERA WORK IS AMAZING. *cough* Anyways, I learned that with a great perception and a camera, you could easily make a plastic toy appear to be a real life sized item in a movie and hey, even thee Spielberg did it.

. Return of the Jedi with the scene of the Imperial Sand Dunes, was really shot in California. Just with that, any movie could have been shot not in a location you would think. Watching that scene in ROTJ when I was a kid, I always thought it was a true and real desert. Well, I was wrong. Darn it.

. Just because you don't have such a large income of money for your film doesn't mean you can't do some wonderful work. The scene from 'The Grind' added into the article shows that, having the perspective of a real life thing, could add up to any other movie with more money. The actors being 40 feet away was crazy but it worked and i believed that the Humvee was indeed. Real. Congratz!

Opinions Ahead

. I really want to see more work like this, with large directors and in more movies. It displays a lot of potential in that director to do something so...you know, cool. Come on Joss Whedon.

. Model cars and such, coming from Walmart and looking that realistic, where can I find these. Here, I don't see things like that of course.

Question Time

. What would the scene from 'The Grind' look like if the Humvee was real?

See ya'll next time!

There is Room for More Animation Movies (Blog #2)

Well, let's see here.

Things Iv'e Learned

. A main thing I really didn't know was that there were 75 animated movies produced and made from the year 2008 to now. Quite a large number considering it's only animated one's included.

. "Clunkers" like Iron Giant and Titan A.E. . Uh, no. I definitely didn't know that movies like these were clunkers. Which they aren't, clunkers hopefully has a different meaning for my sake.

. Despicable Me 2 grossed about $750 million and was named Universal's most profitable movie. Huh, interesting. I would have thought something along the lines of Jurassic Park, or maybe it was animated movie. Who knows

My Opinion

. Expressing my opinion, mainly I believe that having a bunch of animated movies is fine and actually analyzing it, people don't go around saying " there is a lot of live-action movies" so. BAM.

. If several movies like Rise of the Guardians were released at later dates from popular movies they gained a large profit, they probably would have made more money. Rise of Guardians was a great and beautiful movie by the way! Well, in my opinion.

My Question

. For my question, What company will have the next "big" animated movie hit?

VWORP VWORP (Video #1)

iv'e always enjoyed this video for it's unique art style and little quirky jokes of doctor who. with both combined, i believe it's a great video and with great potential. case closed.

My Title Here (Blog #1)

well overall this week and this being my first official blog entry, i must admit that so far, key word so far, this week has been great.

all my classes and of course with animation mostly, i mostly want and also look forward to learning and educating myself with several things. really, i can't wait to learn flash and being able to use my tablet in class and to simply just do, stuff. haha.

though probably the only thing that grind-ed my gears this week was that while drawing and erasing

the page ripped.

it.

ripped.

even with that horrible thing happening, on the other hand i made a great drawing and it was a glorious feeling

all in all

i'll post the video next!

I DON'T KNOWWWW

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THIS
