Childhood Inspirations (Blog #9)

As any normal kid that was born in the 90's and so, I grew up watching Disney Movies, from Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, then moving up towards Mulan and Pocahontas. Disney was a main factor in growing up, though, The Muppets and Sesame Street taught me lessons as well. I remember sitting on the couch in the mornings with my matching pj's and eating cereal. Simple times, ahhhh. Also, just to mention, watching He-Man and stuff with my dad was the best. Back on topic. Both Walt Disney's and Jim Henson's works were important to me.

A childhood.

I Learned Stuff

. Surprisingly so, both men were alike in many ways with different attributes. Thinking about it, they developed a full generation of people and children alike that, they will never forget this stuff. BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE.

. Both Walt and Jim weren't praising individuals. Odd to think though to each their own and even with that, they did what they did and pulled out their work.

. I honestly didn't know that both were so, up tight on making sure they are entitled not just as men they have a caring for the development of children, but, that they also enjoyed what they did and they were filmakers and not just some performers for the amusement of the younger one's.

OPINIONS

. Truly, I can't choose.Iv'e been to Disneyland when I was younger and also, Iv'e been on Sesame Street. Both were amazing experiences as a child. Hell, still to this day I love watching their works and for Jim Henson, his work with Labyrinth was some of the best work ever. One of my favorite movies ever and plus duh, David Bowie.

. For Walt Disney's theme song, I see him as more of a Once Upon a Dream guy from Sleeping Beauty

Questions Rolling on In

. What is YOUR favorite Disney Movie. Mine, it's a hard choice but it's either Alice in Wonderland, The Hunchback of Notredame,Pocahontas or Sleeping Beauty.

See ya'll next time

Thank you Dreamworks (Blog #8)

As we already know, storyboarding is an important aspect in the field of animation and having DreamWorks give out tips and helping out on improving them, is great.

My Lesson:

. Avoid being so flat, give a scene depth and not just one angle. it should agree with the viewrs eye and it should be pleasing and not a boring board that is flat. It's like shooting a film, use more then one camera.

. Grids actually help, now for me, drawing is usually just a an automatic thing to do and not laying down a grid first. Though with this, it helps layout your shapes and where exactly you want things to be in your scene.

. Depth is a MAIN. You need depth to add to the scene, you don't want it flat and also with a background, foreground and frontground, you have a whole thing to look at.

Opinions are Important

. I actually enjoy storyboards and seeing how they are and then the final product is really a thing, how much an idea progressed.

. A storyboard can't roll unless you have a good concept with it.

Here's the Question

. Would you use these tips yourself??

Say NO To Spirit Week (Blog #7)

another week goes by and it's wondrous. things are going awesome and also i'm enjoying myself in class. i always can't wait to come in, with the whole class and get to work. this week flew by so fast, it was practically the flash. ha, flash.
this weekend, pretty much being with the family for a football game and usually not my thing but, it actually is fun to do.
now, for the title, spirit week at nfhs was horrible, boring choices for each day and the pep rally was, just no.

that's all i should say
so today, i'm fabric shopping and this will be difficult since i'm such a perfectionist.

for this week i learned about flash, flash man. savior of the universe. hah, joking aside. i love flash, i'll have to get used to it but learning how different animations are created in this program is really interesting

though what really irked me the fact that there is a merge mode, it's the most upsetting thing ever, just no. i don't like it.
for flash though, i can't wait to learn how to do full animated and sounded works. that would be pretty fun.

now for the happy, getting fabric for my medic cosplay is pretty sweet! i still have a bunch to do though, plus making the medi-gun and pack to go with it. ugh, cosplay i love it but damn.

i have nothing else to say so have this gif

also, here's a shout out to my amazing friend Christina and her lovely blog ( http://surikitsuna.blogspot.com/)
thank you so much for the shout out, ububu

so for anyone who reads this, here ya go

oh, sam and frodo are totally into each other (thoughsamandrosiehadlike13children)

Someone Small Can Make a Change, Even a Scarecrow (Blog #6)

Watching the video struck a cord deep inside of me that I didn't know I even had. The message was shown simply and with the music and even the no named character, it showed a message.

What I Learned

. Even something so simple, controversy could strike at any moment. This being a youtube video and not a televised commercial, could have easily made it spread, faster I would say.

. Sometimes by displaying another product without much time for your own, it could work out in the end. Many commercials and video's have done this and they are pretty good and interesting to watch!

.  Companies, multiple actually, wish to promote their products through viral videos for a change. Honestly, that would be interesting so my tv wouldn't be clogged with commercials.

Opinions!

. I believe that viral videos of today are the future in anything, they spread things faster as well.

. The Scarecrow needs me good light shined upon it, not bad. It indicates a wonderful massage as well as promoting something.

Thee Question

. Now, Do you agree that The Scarecrow is a bad way of promoting or showing something or do you think it was a great way or showing the cons of things?
.

BBC All the Way (Blog # 5)

Music obviously is a main component to any great standing movie and everything made. It adds a certain emphasis to the subject at hand.

Personally, I enjoy a great score in a film.

What I Learned

. With the use of sound and music set ups, it emulates several emotions that are to present in the film and that specific scene. For me, I could use Jaws as an example with that iconic theme that you SHOULD know. With that, you just knew some unlikely person was going to die.

. Vibrations man, with these things you can invoke fear into a group of movie goers even with that "horror movie" soundtrack. It's pretty cool how you can bring out those fears with anxiety and even to the point of shivering because of a vibration or ring that has a low range.

. Music could also unknowing predict foreshadowing into the story, AKA death, romance or any other emotion. Example being, a man looking towards a girl in the crowd and the music starts and the zoom in as you obviously know, that's love at first sight.

Choo Choo, The Opinion Train Ahead

. Basically, Music is a favorite attribute of mine in any film from Interview with a Vampire to Edward Scissorhands and even The Shining. Music adds to the experience for anyone.

. I love the fact that vibrations can cause feelings like that in an audience. No wonder I feel that way while watching a horror movie.

Question Time

. Now, what is your favorite score of music from a film? Could be anything, mine. I always fall in love with the music my Danny Elfman from any Tim Burton movie (Edward Scissorhands especially)
(just look at him, such a cutie patootie)

i really recommend this video and also to add, the music is so addictive.

Creativity is the Greatest Gift to Have (When you Have a Scanner) ( Blog #4)

well hello there again, looking at the overall week so far (being on wednesday) things are going swimmingly and all is well. drawings are being made and things are being learned all of that kind of stuff.

with learning illustrator and all, i quite enjoy it a whole lot and it took some getting used to (even the mac) but it's great really, though looking forward to learning flash still and even tomorrow on color theory, always found colors interesting. colors, interesting. god what's wrong with me. hah.

learning the mac is still burning me on the inside and i internally scream all the time when i do something wrong. ugh, why mac why. i grew up on windows so, hard to teach a dog new tricks well, i'm not that old.

anyways!

with happier news, i learned how to use a scanner properly and not mine at home! (ta-da) the scan looks amazing and beautiful, i really need to scan things at home more often. (reminder, remind self to put a reminder in my reminder) also in my own personal news, i might be going to a convention next weekend and i can't wait practically my reaction to it was

with this week, i learned actually that i'm good with this sort of stuff. i can do art!
i, actually always thought i was a horrible artist and i wasn't good enough, and now. i honestly feel good.

and now for the weather

so my week summed up:

or aka the video which is up next

Even With a Low Budget (Blog #3)

Visuals can and are interesting with a little work and imagination put together and they add up to the product. With a small budget, none should give up, greatness could still come out.

Things Iv'e Learned

. Let's just say, CAMERA WORK IS AMAZING. *cough* Anyways, I learned that with a great perception and a camera, you could easily make a plastic toy appear to be a real life sized item in a movie and hey, even thee Spielberg did it.

. Return of the Jedi with the scene of the Imperial Sand Dunes, was really shot in California. Just with that, any movie could have been shot not in a location you would think. Watching that scene in ROTJ when I was a kid, I always thought it was a true and real desert. Well, I was wrong. Darn it.

. Just because you don't have such a large income of money for your film doesn't mean you can't do some wonderful work. The scene from 'The Grind' added into the article shows that, having the perspective of a real life thing, could add up to any other movie with more money. The actors being 40 feet away was crazy but it worked and i believed that the Humvee was indeed. Real. Congratz!

Opinions Ahead

. I really want to see more work like this, with large directors and in more movies. It displays a lot of potential in that director to do something so...you know, cool. Come on Joss Whedon.

. Model cars and such, coming from Walmart and looking that realistic, where can I find these. Here, I don't see things like that of course.

Question Time

. What would the scene from 'The Grind' look like if the Humvee was real?

See ya'll next time!

There is Room for More Animation Movies (Blog #2)

Well, let's see here.

Things Iv'e Learned

. A main thing I really didn't know was that there were 75 animated movies produced and made from the year 2008 to now. Quite a large number considering it's only animated one's included.

. "Clunkers" like Iron Giant and Titan A.E. . Uh, no. I definitely didn't know that movies like these were clunkers. Which they aren't, clunkers hopefully has a different meaning for my sake.

. Despicable Me 2 grossed about $750 million and was named Universal's most profitable movie. Huh, interesting. I would have thought something along the lines of Jurassic Park, or maybe it was animated movie. Who knows

My Opinion

. Expressing my opinion, mainly I believe that having a bunch of animated movies is fine and actually analyzing it, people don't go around saying " there is a lot of live-action movies" so. BAM.

. If several movies like Rise of the Guardians were released at later dates from popular movies they gained a large profit, they probably would have made more money. Rise of Guardians was a great and beautiful movie by the way! Well, in my opinion.

My Question

. For my question, What company will have the next "big" animated movie hit?

VWORP VWORP (Video #1)

iv'e always enjoyed this video for it's unique art style and little quirky jokes of doctor who. with both combined, i believe it's a great video and with great potential. case closed.

My Title Here (Blog #1)

well overall this week and this being my first official blog entry, i must admit that so far, key word so far, this week has been great.

all my classes and of course with animation mostly, i mostly want and also look forward to learning and educating myself with several things. really, i can't wait to learn flash and being able to use my tablet in class and to simply just do, stuff. haha.

though probably the only thing that grind-ed my gears this week was that while drawing and erasing

the page ripped.

it.

ripped.

even with that horrible thing happening, on the other hand i made a great drawing and it was a glorious feeling

all in all

i'll post the video next!

I DON'T KNOWWWW

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THIS
