Popeye=CHILDHOOD (Video #17)

Okay, when I was growing up, I watched a lot of cartoons and one of my favorites happened to be, Popeye the Sailorman. He's always been one of my favorite cartoon characters and Iv'e watched a lot of the cartoons and shorts. So when I found out that, just like the Peanuts being brought to the screen, Popeye was also and looking at this footage. It gave me so much hope and nostalgia. The character models along with the movements of the characters is just like the 2d show and it gives it that feeling of old-timey animation. The quick and eratic movements and the slapstick humor just bring it to life and it's only a minute long and I want more.
I can't wait for this to come out to re-live my childhood memories of sitting in the basement playroom on my old tv and popping a VCR in and watching some Popeye.

Iv'e Been Springtrapped (Blog # 42)

Back once again with a daily blog about my non-life.

We haven't learned anything new but we are working on our Independent projects and I'm doing a pixilization and having things moving in the air so, wish me good luck. Though, myself, I did learn how to make a fursuit head for the cosplay I'm working on.

I do wanna learn how to convey ideas more idealy to an audience since, some of my ideas are coplex and sometimes, people don't get it.

So, UBCon is coming up next week and I can't wait, it's been a while since Iv'e gone to an actual convention and this is one of my favorites. I'm working on a Springtrap costume which, is almost done and wearing that Saturday, along with Kieren Walker on Friday and Ellis on Sunday

Nothing bad has happened to me, luckily but I've been having troubles sleeping lately but, that's mostly my fault.

I'm Not Ready (Blog # 41)

Hello all.

I might be found dead come this Thursday as I'm in the final stretch for my school's musical and the show starts Thursday and I'm terrified.

Even so, this week we reviewed some of the classes work and mostly worked on our second editing tutorials which, I rather happy about! (for once)

I really wanna learn how to convey my stories more, as some of my ideas are super over the top and hard to understand at some points.

Again, this week was hell for me but some good came out of it as my musical is coming up and i'm excited and scared. Iv'e done some more art pieces for FNAF also!

I also came up with the idea of doing a FNAF cosplay for UBCon next month since, even though I wanna cosplay Eddie NOW, it's gonna be a lot of money and I'd have to cut off/buzz off a lot of my hair. So, I'm waiting but I'm planning to do a Purple Guy/Springtrap thing where, I'm just wearing a springtrap head (because I'm lazy) and purple guys outfit and I'll be able to open the mouth and I'll be purple guy inside and etc. It's pretty cool

Nothing really happened again this week that was bad, just the fact that my school grades have been falling because of the musical and lack of sleep/time.

(P.S) I ALSO FOUND THIS RANDOM PICTURE OF STEVE BUSCEMI ON MY COMPUTER

Why Shooting Everyday is the Best Way (Blog # 40)

LIGHT'S, CAMERA

. By shooting everyday, you begin to get used to the equipment you have and what it could really do and what it can't do. You begin to know where things are and even, how to do some neat tricks you could use. You get into a force of habit and practice never hurt anyone, even if you record a water bottle sitting a table. It's still something at least.
With continuous recording, ideas start to be made and more practice is done as you want to try new things like angles, frames, different people or even subjects. After that, you understand your strengths and weaknesses in your film making and that's what makes you professional. You take what your bad at and get better at them with time.

ACTION

. This makes sense as, if you keep doing something, you get better at it as I did do that with my drawing and here I am today. This could be used on everything. If you wanna get better at drawing, drawing something everyday, or sing everyday or whatever. Practice makes perfect in the end and this article could very well, help people by having them do this.

How Music Can Make Everything Better (Blog # 39)

Add Some Beat

. Carlos Baena, a 15 year animation veteran explains how music could be incorporated into your animation and how it could make it better. Animation and music could and will go hand in hand as they both use a type of movement to over the subject matter along. There are beats and tempos and there is a character or personality in both. Music based animations are not a new thing, examples being Fantasia, Fantasia 2000 or even The Jungle Book use music to use and to incorporate into a story or the movement of a character.
When working with a soundtrack, timing is always your best friend as the use of comedic or emotional timing is needed to be kept in mind to keep the viewer watching.
Keep in mind as well that the human body could be represented as different musical instruments to extenuate the movement or the actual instrument playing itself.

Needs More Cowbell

. I really like this article as music does play an important factor for animation/film in general as it makes a mood or adds emotion to the piece.
Using examples of Bugs Bunny was a great way also to show example of what it means to use music although, another good example would have been "The Cat Concerto" from Tom and Jerry

BIG AND LOUD (Video # 16)

Here's a clip from a movie that I grew up with and I truly adore. "Cats Don't Dance" is an animated film pretty much about these animals who are in showbiz but don't get the parts they want because they're animals. Darla Dimple is practically the satire evil version of Shirley Temple and I love her for it. Her song BIG AND LOUD is something that I always think of and, I just love this movie because of her.

I really recommend seeing it even though it's not the best, the musical moments in this movie and nice and the animation is very hyper active and always in movement when it needs to be.
