The End of an Era ( Blog # 35)

Some Shocking Information

. By now, Paramount has announced that the original film of 35 mm will be done for, for them. This way of film being done for a century, it's shocking news to hear as film would be going to digital all the way.

. The Wolf of Wall Street was the first all digital movie to be put out and The Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be the last 35 mm film to be put out from Paramount.

.  Many were expecting other industry's to jump onto the bandwagon of all-digital films. Some being Disney and 20th Century Fox.

Hey, Listen

. In my opinion, I would like to see, film still be here. Yes, having everything go to digital is a huge leap but,we've had 35 mm film for a century and why would you just, throw it out the window.

. I'm glad those two companies didn't jump on the bandwagon so quickly. Thank you

You Have to Plan (Blog #34)

I was Given an Education

. A good method for planning out an action for a scene or rather, anything, is to attempt to do it yourself (depending on what it is). It gives a reference on how something moves and flows. I've seen this done with the production of Toy Story, animators actually gluing a plank of wood on their feet and moving, giving the movement of the army men from the movie. It's really interesting and even if you do in fact look pretty stupid.

. It's also helpful to check out other movie clips to help you with movement that you actually can't do, one being jumping from building to building. This also could give you an idea to make it more, entertaining or if you missed something towards the scene.

. Thumbnails is also a work of planning out a scene or work of poses. Plus to add, it's not bad to ask for help from a fellow artist or animator.

A Thought is Pretty Human

. The method of planning a scene with your own body is one of favorite things as myself, I sometimes sit at my Mac and make weird faces and poses as I try to figure out the movement of an emotion to my character or I take a picture. Gosh, lip syncing is the funniest thing.

. Me, I'm kind of if-y towards asking someone to help me draw something, I try to do everything myself. I guess I have to learn a little from that, if I don't know how to draw something, I teach myself to learn. Ha...

What is Sleep?? (Blog # 33)

I can't believe it's already in the 3 marking period, it's going by so fast.

This week has been work, just work practically and that's fine. With the competition coming up and working with the Anibot is going to be interesting enough. Plus I also learned how to make a werid balloon for my anibot.

Once again, I want to learn about digging up a body for animation purposes though also, hair would be an interesting and "fun" thing to learn. For my anibot, I need to make my balloon pop and I don't know how to do this... /(cries internally)

Happiness comes in small things and that was finding out that my application for Tora Con was accepted and that I WILL be going!! YES

I also got a cartoon version of me made and it's so heller cool, like oh my

Though, I did wish to have more sleep this whole entire week, it was hell having your eyes bug out as you blink your sleepiness away.

The Doctor is Dying (Video # 14)

A simple video on the same Doctor Who group, Chameleon Circuit.
Though, this time being about the 10th doctor's regeneration and this, is a catchy song to listen to and with the video added to it. BIG PLUS

With the changes of the art from rough animation to chalk animation and the rotoscoping with the chalk, it's beautiful in a way.

Oh Dear Ichabod (Blog #32)

Now, as far as I know, the VFX on Sleepy Hollow are really great and since I watch it, it really is. Congratz guys for a season 2!!

3 is the Magic Number

. With the headless horsemen, I had an idea that they used a "green screen" effect using the actor's head but the fact that it worked so good and that they made a realistic collar to go with the character.

. Skulls coming to life. This, is the coolest thing ever. Creating a model and layering it to make a (again) hyper realistic image of a solid object moving and coming to life on the T.V

. This is ONE episode. Only one and with the VFX of every episode, the VFX specialists for Sleepy Hollow have a lot for work for them, though even with that it comes together to create a balanced story of Ichabod Crane and The Headless Horsemen and even adding to it.

Giving A Sense

. I enjoy these VFX from this show, they really throw together a great universe and a different take on the story of Ichabod Crane.

. Though, honestly I would like to see something different than something just, crumble into dust or stone. Iv'e seen it before and that's pretty much it.

ANSWER THIS

. What kind of VFX will be adapted into Season 2 of Sleepy Hollow?

Iv'e Always Wanted to Be a Cosplayer! (Blog #31)

Hello to all, it's been another week. Well, at least it was a normal one.

Maya this week was demo, after demo and tutorials all over the place and not that I have a problem with that. I really enjoy Maya so far and especially the geometry tool and sculpting (dat goblin man, that was the best.)

Plus I still really wanna learn how to move and even make a full character and body, going into this field that is the thing I want to do, characters and people. It's what I draw.

I'm happy because I finished outlining my Newt Tattoo's for my cosplay and I practiced some Ellis makeup which, actually makes me look like a guy and this makes me sooooo happy. WOO. Plus to add to this, my 2-D Animation grade, I was surprised on how well of a grade it got. Me and my low self-confidence.

Annoyance?
Nothing on the top of my head that I can think of, which is good. I think it was the helmet that he had to do, I still have horrible dreams about it /shiver'

Sooooo, YEAH

GIRLS?! Playing VIDEO GAMES?! (GASP) (Video # 13)

This video explains a whole lot and it's really funny. DONE.

Though really,

I actually experienced the 'girl gamer' thing and just, why. Honestly though, eh, it's gonna happen and I don't care because all you have to do his beat them on the score-boards and BAM. Instant quiet mic from the other. There is your tip.

So, simply, this video has really good animation (since i'm subscribed to the channel, aw yiss)
Not much to say so

I Can't Feel My Everything (Blog # 30)

Well, we are back from break and what's the first thing to happen. EVERYTHING IS FROZEN.
I actually find this quite funny on how people are joking on how it was a promotional Ad for Disney's Frozen.

Practically with this week, we had our break then snow days. Nothing special as we did lose days for work. Also (with the days we did have) we began Maya and it IS hard but, it really cool to work with.

I want to learn to make a person, pretty simple and Iv'e been working at home with Maya. Practice makes perfect.

Though, for happiness, I'm happy that I got into a new fandom. I finally picked up L4D2 (took me so long, huh) and it's great, literally.

Sadness, well, Sherlock Series 3 is ending today and well, it was good while it lasted!!

The Final Straw (Video # 12)

Well, for the first video of the year I bring you, The Final Straw, by Ringling College.

I really like this one, it's funny and has great movement in my opinion in the scarecrow. It was one of the many from this YouTube channel I follow that airs different animations from colleges.
